MENTONE — Tim Croy is seeking his sixth term on the Mentone Town Council.
Croy, running as a Democrat, is the first to file for the town for this year’s elections.
“I still feel that I can make a difference,” he said of why he’s running again. He said there are still some projects he wants to accomplish.
Croy and his wife Jacqueline own TJ’s Crafts & Home Decor in Mentone. They have seven kids, 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He serves as the Mentone Chamber of Commerce’s vice president and has been president of the Bell Museum for 20 years. Other community service includes his serving on the Mentone Fire Department for 20 years and with Mentone EMS for 18 years.
“It’s not what I can do for the community: it’s what the community can do for me, so together we can make Mentone the place everyone wants to call home,” he added.
For the 2023 election, the filing deadline for elected positions for all towns in Kosciusko County, save for Warsaw, Winona Lake and Syracuse, is noon Aug. 1.
