‘Spring Into Action’ In Downtown Goshen April 7
News Release
GOSHEN — Downtown Goshen Inc. is planning its April First Fridays event, “Spring Into Action,” which will take place from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 7, in downtown Goshen.
Expect to find activities for kids and adults, entertainment and an array of options for eating, drinking and shopping. Goshen merchants, shops, bars and eateries participating in the event will donate 10% of all purchases from 5-9 p.m. to partnering nonprofits and charities.
Among some of the participants, Italian-inspired eatery The Table at 108 will highlight its smoked pork chop with apricot chutney dish in raising funds for the Goshen Community Schools Foundation. Soapy Gnome, which specializes in handcrafted soaps and body products, will raise money for the Maple City Health Care Center. The Green Bee, offering a line of eco-friendly products that support sustainability, will contribute funds to the Goshen Farmer’s Market.
“Being together downtown and having fun with our friends and neighbors and, at the same time, supporting local businesses and benefiting charities in our community — that’s what First Fridays is all about,” said Amanda McMahon, director of First Fridays. “Our Spring Into Action event is an especially good time because things are usually warming up with the change of seasons. People are feeling eager to get out of the house and get back out into the Goshen community — and get back into the swing of things.”
Speaking of getting into the swing of spring, GoDance Studio will be offering an hourlong West Coast Swing dance lesson from 7-8 p.m., with donations going to Lacasa. A springtime coloring session for kids will be held at The Imagination Spot, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with proceeds going to ADEC Inc., and South Side Soda Shop — raising funds for Goshen Stars Soccer Club — will offer a whitefish seafood special in honor of Spring Into Action.
