1st Source Foundation Donates $100,000 To Support South Bend Thrive Housing Project
News Release
SOUTH BEND — The 1st Source Foundation recently donated $100,000 in grant funding to support the South Bend Heritage Foundation’s SB Thrive project, which will provide affordable housing opportunities to individuals, families and vulnerable young mothers in the community.
“Equitable housing is an important resource for any community to thrive,” says Shelli Alexander, 1st Source Bank central region president. “Not only is it important to provide quality, safe housing to people of all economic backgrounds, but it’s vital we ensure individuals and families in vulnerable situations have access to these resources, and the security and assurance affordable housing can provide. The SB Thrive project does all of this and more, and we’re happy to support the great work being done by the South Bend Heritage Foundation.”
South Bend Heritage Foundation Executive Director Marco Mariani said, “1st Source has been a partner with us for many years. We are so grateful for their support on SB Thrive. The gift from the 1st Source Foundation will help to ensure that we deliver a high-quality affordable rental housing development for our community. Thank you, 1st Source, for your commitment to South Bend.”
The SB Thrive project is a 54-unit rental apartment community in South Bend on McKinley Avenue, adjacent to the soon-to-be constructed YSB Center for Youth Success campus.
