WARSAW — Those who need help cleaning up their property after a fire or storm now have another local option.

The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Paul Davis Restoration’s new franchise location on Thursday, April 20. It’s at 2275 N. Detroit St.

Owner Shelly Koelper also has a location in Fort Wayne for the national company.

“After all these years of going up and down (U.S.) 30, we just decided it was time to have a location here,” she said. “We’ve been growing, and the amount of times that we’re coming up this direction, it just really justifies opening a new place.”

She gave details on what Paul Davis does.

“We restore properties, either residential or commercial with any type of property damage, so water, fire, storm, (a) car impacts your building, trauma, mold, really any contaminant,” she said. “We have two different parts to our company. One mitigates the loss, so gets rid of the trauma, gets rid of the soot, gets rid of the mold and the water, and then the other part of the company rebuilds the property.”

Koelper has six employees at Warsaw and is working on hiring more. She said some from the Fort Wayne location will also help with work locally.

She noted with the new location, employees can respond to emergency situations more quickly.

“If someone has water loss, water spraying all over, they would really like to know that we’re here and not driving 40 minutes up the highway,” she said.

Koelper said the company is eager to become “a part of the (Warsaw) community.”

“We’re a big part of Fort Wayne. We’re at a lot of boards and a lot of charities, and we hope to do the same in Kosciusko County,” she said.
