WARSAW — A South Bend teenager was recently arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police officers.
Jadyn Alan Hancock, 19, South Bend, is charged with resisting law enforcement and auto theft, both level 6 felonies.
On April 30, an Indiana State Police trooper received information about a stolen vehicle traveling east on US 30, near SR 19. The trooper found the vehicle, confirmed it was stolen and attempted to pull the vehicle over.
According to court documents, the driver disregarded a red light and traveled around 80 mph while not stopping for law enforcement.
A Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy deployed stop sticks and the vehicle was stopped near Parker Street in Warsaw.
Hancock admitted he stole the vehicle from South Bend two days prior and was on his way to Fort Wayne.
Hancock was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 30, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
