Cancer Care Center In Warsaw Marks 20 Years Of Serving Patients
News Release
WARSAW — The Cancer Care Center at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital recently recognized its 20th year serving the community with comprehensive treatments close to home.
The Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital Cancer Care Center, 1520 Provident Drive, in Warsaw, combines cancer treatment technology with oncology specialists to treat and support cancer patients and their families.
“Our comprehensive Cancer Care Center has provided the highest standard of care for radiation and chemotherapy to thousands of patients under one roof for the past two decades,” said Hugh Gerard, director of the center. “We are proud to be able to offer the same modern level of treatment a big city hospital provides with convenient access for our community.”
The center also provides a patient navigator program, dietary services and counseling referrals to treat the whole patient and guide them and their family through their cancer journey. And being in a smaller community allows the center’s team to take more time with the patients during their treatments, getting to know them and care for them on a personal level, Gerard added.
“We are proud of the Cancer Care Center’s commitment to providing treatment and support to our community for the past 20 years,” said Lynn Mergen, Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital chief executive officer. “While we hope that no one in our community experiences a diagnosis, we are grateful to have a knowledgeable care team to come alongside families who are facing cancer.”
