Warsaw School Board Approves Grant

WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert updated the Warsaw School Board Wednesday on scholarships.
He said students had a scholarship night Tuesday and students were able to receive scholarships through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
In other business, the board:
• Approved a $6,400 grant from Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital medical staff to cover certification fees for the Certified Clinical Medical Associate test taken by students, along with a new exam table.
• Learned WCS is training two new bus drivers and possibly a third.
Human Resources Director Sheila Howe said the school corporation always needs bus drivers and bus drivers.
Chief Financial Officer April Fitterling said if people are hired now, they can be trained over the summer.
• Learned high school graduation is June 2.
• Learned the high school sophomore class planned a week of teacher appreciation activities this week.
• Learned prom was this past weekend.
