Thornton Arrested For Stealing Cricut Machines From Walmart

WARSAW — A Michigan man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing three Cricut machines from the Warsaw Walmart.
Travis Richard Thornton, 36, Cassopolis, Mich., is charged with theft, a level 6 felony.
On July 12, 2022, a Warsaw Police detective spoke with a Walmart employee about a theft which occurred on July 8, 2022. The employee said he was alerted to the store’s emergency exit door alarm in the lawn and garden center going off.
According to court documents, upon reviewing the store’s surveillance footage, the employee saw a man go through the emergency exit door with three Cricut cutting and design machines, with a total value of $967.46. The man did not purchase the machines.
On Aug. 8, 2022, the detective received a phone call from a Plymouth Police detective, who said he was currently investigating a theft involving the man who stole the Cricut machines. Three days later, the detectives identified the suspect as Thornton.
For this case, Thornton was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on May 22, 2023, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
