Grimm Arrested For Using Knife To Threaten Man In Local Hotel

WARSAW — A Winona Lake man was recently arrested for allegedly using a knife to threaten a man in a local hotel.
Jacob Bryce Grimm, 31, 77 Kings Highway Apartment 10, Winona Lake, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 9, Warsaw and Winona Lake Police officers went to the Wyndham Garden in Warsaw regarding a report of a man holding a knife to an individual’s throat. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a man who said he was drinking alcohol with Grimm in a hotel room at the Deluxe Inn.
According to court documents, Grimm accused the man of looking at him funny and became upset. He allegedly took a knife and held it to the man’s throat while threatening to kill him multiple times. The man then fled and went to Wyndham Garden to call 911.
A Warsaw Police officer found Grimm in the hotel room where the incident occurred. Grimm refused to comply with law enforcement and laid on a bed, facing away from officers. Officers saw Grimm holding a knife and took possession of the weapon.
Grimm continued resisting arrest and was tased by officers.
Grimm has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
