Inmate Support Program IRACS Plans Community Event June 21 In Warsaw
News Release
WARSAW — The Integrated Re-entry and Correctional Support program, known as IRACS, will hold a community meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at The Palette, 2521 E. Center St., Warsaw.
The public is invited. Light refreshments will be available.
The IRACS program was created to address the needs of those who are incarcerated and their families. The program provides peer support teams working daily within jails to connect people with recovery resources, access to treatment and support during re-entry. The program also assists families and others with information they may need to help support someone in incarceration.
IRACS peers collaborate with officials in the criminal justice system to identify the needs of those who are incarcerated and to ensure needed assistance moves with an individual through recovery and re-entry.
The Kosciusko County IRACS Committee is composed of community leaders from the county sheriff’s department, prosecutor’s office, the Kosciusko County Jail Chemical Addiction Program, the Kosciusko Coalition on Drug Education and the Living In Transition Effectively program.
Organizers of the community meeting are hoping for a large turnout of individuals in recovery, community leaders, those who work or volunteer in recovery, and all other interested community members.
