Clela Mae Baxter, 93, formerly of Columbia City, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.

She was born Nov. 17, 1929. On Aug. 1, 1948, she married Richard L. Baxter, who preceded her in death in 2017.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann (James) Walter, Albuquerque, N.M., and Penny D. (Chris) Haegert, Larwill; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, is handling arrangements.
