Indiana Veterans Affairs Office Awards $400,000 In Grants

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs recently announced it has awarded more than $400,000 to 15 organizations across the state through the Grants for Veterans’ Services program.
The organizations selected will use the funds to support programs focused on preventing veteran homelessness, preventing veteran suicide, providing therapeutic services, providing job training and job search assistance, and assisting veterans in finding and using available resources.“The GVS program provides nonprofit organizations the financial support to provide direct services to Indiana veterans,” said Dennis Wimer, director of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs. “These grants provide flexibility and nimbleness to help more veterans in the communities they live in and continues IDVA’s mission to Support, Serve and Advocate for the Indiana Veterans Community.”

- Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities
- Veterans Life Changing Services
- Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans
- YMCA of Indianapolis
- Veterans Impact Services Inc.
- Family Service Association of Howard County
