Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Wabash Man For Possessing Child Pornography

WABASH COUNTY — On Tuesday, June 27, detectives with the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, or ICACTF, arrested a Wabash County man on alleged charges of possession of child pornography.
The investigation began when a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, also known as NCMEC, was received by the ICAC Task Force.
The tip ultimately led to a search warrant being served on a residence at 344 Elm Street, Wabash, IN, by the Indiana State Police; with assistance from the Wabash City Police Department. After a subsequent search, officers located multiple electronic devices.
As a result of the investigation, Peter James Nelson, 46, of Wabash was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail with the charges of three counts of possession of child pornography, a level 5 felony
