Part of US 33 will be closed over the summer for bridge construction.

CHURUBUSCO — The Indiana Department of Transportation, also known as INDOT, announces the closure of U.S. 33 north of Churubusco for bridge construction.

Starting on or after July 5, crews will begin working on the bridge over Blue River between State Road 205 and State Road 9. Work is expected to last until the beginning of September. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During construction, drivers should use the posted detour of S.R. 205, U.S. 30 and S.R. 9, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when traveling in and around all work zones.
