Chapman Lakes Conservation Association Celebrates “Holidays At The Lake”

WARSAW — The Chapman Lakes Conservation Association held its seventh annual Fourth of July parade on Friday, June 30.
Residents decorated a wide variety of vehicles to fit the 2023 theme of “Holidays at the Lake.” Awards were also given to the top six entries, with first place going to a vehicle decorated as a turkey to represent Thanksgiving.
Over 20 vehicles were part of the festivities, with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Plain Township Fire Department leading the decorated vehicles on the parade route. Parade participants threw candy, toys, and even warm hot dogs to those lined up on the streets to watch the parade go by.
- A vehicle and trailer themed around Halloween, specifically on the Disney movie “Hocus Pocus”, won second place.
- This entry focused on a variety of holidays and won third place.
- A fully decorated entry representing Mardi Gras won fifth place.
- This entry themed around a hot dog eating contest threw warm hot dogs to parade watchers.
