Holiday World To Open New Roller Coaster, Code-Named ‘Gravy Boat’
News Release
SANTA CLAUS — A new roller coaster is expected at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, but not many details are known since park leaders are leaving cryptic clues about the ride. The ride has been code-named “Gravy Boat” by spokesperson Leah Koch.
Although the nickname is probably not the ride’s actual name, considering the Thunderbird was nicknamed “Big Turkey” during construction, it is generating a lot of buzz around the ride.
The Evansville news Facebook page reported on Tuesday, June 20 the park had received a container delivered from Vekoma Rides Manufacturing. The product information on the container showed signs of the roller coaster being a boomerang roller coaster. The Facebook post also stated the park submitted construction paperwork on the former Pilgrims Plunge location in the Thanksgiving area.
Koch mentioned in a blog post about “Gravy Boat” that there is more than what meets the eye about the shipping containers and labels. To sign up for emails about construction updates or to read the blog post, visit Holiday World’s website.
