Lilly Awards $500k To Reduce Barriers Faced By Trans, Gender Non-Binary People
News Release
INDIANAPOLIS — The TransSolutions Research and Resource Center issued a statement on their Facebook page accepting a $500,000 grant from the Eli Lilly and Co. Foundation last month. TransSolutions is a not-for-profit which works to connect transgender and gender non-binary people with HIV to comprehensive care.
The grant will allow TransSolution to pursue its National VISION Project, which will create a national model for resources and support networks tailored to the needs of transgender and gender non-binary people across a HIV Care Continuum.
TransSolutions’ non-profit work seeks to eliminate barriers transgender and gender non-binary people face in housing, employment, education, health literacy and more.
Also mentioned in the statement found on the TransSolutions’ Facebook, Deputy Director Flomichelle Battles announced the grant makes the nonprofit the first transgender agency to be funded via the Lilly program.
