One Injured In Fulton County Crash

FULTON COUNTY — Robert Tuttle, 27, Rochester, was flown to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne by Samaritan Helicopter with life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on US 31 at West Third Street, today, Friday, July 14.
The sheriff’s office received a report at 9:06 a.m. of an accident with unknown injuries and one vehicle possibly on fire. When emergency personnel arrived, they found two-vehicles involved. Both vehicles were off the roadway on the southwest side of the intersection. One vehicle was on fire.
Tuttle’s 1997 Ford Truck was traveling west on Third Street and crossed into the median. Tuttle began to cross the southbound lanes when he was hit by a 2015 Chevrolet truck driven by Devon Cox, 20, Indianapolis. Cox was traveling southbound. The impact caused the Ford truck to rollover several times and down an embankment before catching fire.
Cox was not injured.
Assisting the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office were Rochester Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Fulton County EMA. The sheriff’s office thanks several motorists who stopped to assist and several employees of Power Brake and Spring of Rochester for assisting to get Tuttle from the vehicle and render aid.
