Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 5:26 a.m. Friday, July 14, West Eastbrook Street, near South SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Brandt A. Walcott, 30, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw. Walcott was turning east onto Eastbrook Street when his vehicle was hit by an unknown driver who left the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 11:25 p.m. Thursday, July 13, West SR 14, east of Herendeen Street, Silver Lake. Driver: Michael A. Banta, 40, North Wayne Street, North Manchester. Banta’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:02 p.m. Sunday, July 16, SR 15, near South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sebastian E. Cervantes, 18, North Old SR 15 18, Warsaw; and Penny A. Collins, 72, South Kingsway Road, Seffner, Fla. Cervantes’ vehicle rear-ended Collins’. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:44 a.m. Sunday, July 16, US 30, near Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lynda J. Kelley, 60, Sophie Lane, Warsaw; and Amanda J. Hills, 47, East CR 1150N, Milford. Kelley turned right at the red light at US 30 and Parker Street, not realizing Hills had a green arrow to turn left onto Parker Street at the same time. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:21 p.m. Saturday, July 15, Funk Street, near East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Anais Melendrez, 19, East Levi Lee Road 61, Warsaw; and Teresa A. Miller, 57, East Main Street 123, Warsaw. Melendrez stopped at the Funk Street and East Market Street intersection, but did not see Miller’s vehicle traveling west. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:21 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Blake R. Hockemeyer, 16, East CR 100N, Pierceton; and Jacqueline Castro-Olvera, 22, North East Street 19, Milford. Hockemeyer was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he hit Castro-Olvera’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 1:12 p.m. Saturday, July 15, North Sr 15, near East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles A. Bloss, 27, South Walnut Drive, Warsaw; and Justin L. Carter, 39, Highland Drive, Goshen. Bloss was attempting to turn left onto East Fort Wayne Street when he entered Carter’s path of travel. A passenger in Bloss’ vehicle, Elisabeth P. Bloss, 30, Warsaw, complained of neck and chest pain. She refused medical treatment at the scene and said she would take herself to a local hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:20 p.m. Saturday, July 15, North SR 15, near East Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Claira R. Tom, 19, East CR 800N, Syracuse; and Jenna L. Moree, 38, East Barrington Place, Warsaw. Tom’s vehicle rear-ended Moree’s. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:18 a.m. Saturday, July 15, US 30, east of East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Wyatt M. Haab, 19, North Orn Road, Milford; and Randy Lewis, 66, Forest Green Drive, Toledo, Ohio. Haab was stopped at a stop sign on an access road and entered the eastbound lanes of US 30, entering Lewis’ path of travel. Lewis was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for head, neck, shoulder and hip pain. Damage up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 4:59 p.m. Friday, July 14, East Pierceton Road, east of Raccoon Run, Winona Lake. Driver: Jason W. Chilton, 49, 20A Road, Argos. Chilton’s vehicle left the roadway. The trailer attached to Chilton’s vehicle separated from the vehicle, resulting in deep gouges in the roadway’s asphalt. A bulldozer on the trailer partially separated from the trailer and had to be removed by a wrecker. Damage up to $100,000.
- 4 a.m. Friday, July 14, 1415 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Driver: unknown. A vehicle owned by Darrin M. Conley, Winona Lake, was parked and unoccupied when it sustained damage from an unknown driver. Damage up to $5,000.
