Elkhart Symphony Tickets On Sale July 31
News Release
ELKHART — Culminating in a season-ending “¡Fiesta Sinfónica!” collaboration with Spanish-rock powerhouse Lalo Cura, the concert lineup is set for the Elkhart County Symphony’s 76th season.
Tickets go on sale Monday, July 31, for the five-performance 2023-24 season, which brings back familiar faces — including the acclaimed Brian Major, fresh off his run in “Champion” at the Metropolitan Opera — and builds on the trend of unique, spirited guest collaborations meant to engage audiences, musically and culturally, in bold new ways.
The season commences at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, with “Cinema in the Gardens” at Wellfield Botanic Gardens. Sponsored by Tom Myers and featuring guest composer Rick DeJonge, the opening concert is a prelude to a series of Sunday performances including the return, Nov. 5, to last year’s sold-out Sauder Hall concert at Goshen College and the much-anticipated Feb. 4, 2024, return of Major — an award-winning baritone soloist — to the Lerner Theatre. The Lerner Theatre will also host the final two concerts of the season: a March 24 performance with the Elkhart High School Symphony Orchestra and the “¡Fiesta Sinfónica!” grand finale, May 19.
With season ticket packages for the 2023-24 season, the symphony once again offers five concerts for the price of four. Packages for the five-performance season range from $40 for students to $125 for mezzanine seating, with the discounted pricing, as follows, that offers five tickets for the price of four at every level:
- Adult: $27 per concert or $100 for season tickets ($20 per concert)
- Senior: $25 per concert or $85 for season ($17 per concert)
- Student: $14 per concert or $40 for season ($8 per concert)
- Mezzanine: $35 per concert or $125 for season ($25 per concert)
“We wanted to follow up our 75th, Diamond Jubilee year with a program that honors how far we’ve come as a classical symphony and also demonstrates an inventive and inclusive approach,” said Elkhart Symphony Co-Executive Director John Hill. “We’ve leaned into making this season one of the most memorable and diverse we’ve ever had. This season is about building upon our growing engagement within the community and continuing to mature, and evolve, as a symphony. Our supporters and the people in this community have shown us over the years what the Elkhart County Symphony means to them; we’re very proud to present this season and we encourage people to continue to make the Elkhart Symphony a part of their lives.”
Concert dates for the 2023-24 season are as follows:
- Sept. 10: “Cinema in the Gardens” — 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Wellfield Botanic Gardens. Sponsored by Tom Myers, the season kickoff presents guest composer Rick DeJonge. “Cinema in the Gardens” features the world premiere of a composition written by DeJonge for the symphony.
- Nov. 5: “Pictures of Elkhart County” — 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Sauder Hall on the campus of Goshen College, featuring guest soloist Derek Reeves. Last year’s concert at Sauder Hall was a sell-out.
