NAPPANEE — A Nappanee man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman and violating a protective order.
Zachary Allan Graham, 31, 408 N. Montgomery St. Apartment 1, Bremen, is charged with domestic battery and invasion of privacy, both class A misdemeanors; and domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony.
On July 5, a Nappanee Police officer responded to a domestic incident in which Graham battered a woman.
According to court documents, the woman said Graham hit her two times. Three children witnessed the incident, with one of the children attempting to get Graham away from the woman. The officer noticed redness and abrasions on the woman’s chin and right cheek, along with blood on her lips and mouth.
Graham has a prior conviction for strangulation in St. Joseph County, a case which the woman was also the victim in. The woman has a protective order against Graham, which is in effect through November 2024.
Graham was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 6.
