GOSHEN — “Balloon in a Box, Coping with Grief,” the second edition by author Tom Rose, will be released on Sunday, Aug. 20, and will be available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, online at www.thomaslrose.com and at a special event, “Life Continues … Embrace the Change,” at the Goshen Theater at 4 p.m. Aug. 20.

The first book was the story of his grief journey after his wife died from breast cancer in August of 2019. As he says about the first book, “I caught ‘lightening in a bottle’ as requests for interviews came from both TV, radio, podcasts and print media. I began receiving requests for speaking engagements, 75 to date with many more scheduled. Suddenly I was an author and a speaker.” This second edition updates the original with what he has experienced and learned over the last four years.

In addition to “Balloon in a Box” and “Balloon in a Box Two,” Rose has also published “The Secret is in the Pasta,” a murder mystery novel, also available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and online at www.thomaslrose.com. He and his wife hosted a cooking segment weekly for 13 years on a regional Fox morning show, “Cooking Together with Tom and Joyce.” During that time they authored two cookbooks, “Cooking Together Chinese Style” and “Cooking Together Quick and Easy.” After Joyce’s death, Tom, with the assistance of his son, and in her memory, created “Cooking Together Revisited,” with proceeds from the sales going to breast cancer support projects.
