Indiana Historical Society Grants Over $500K To Local Organizations

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Historical Society has awarded over $500,000 so far this year to 19 local historical organizations in 14 Indiana counties.
Among those receiving grants are the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society of Allen County, as well as the Friends of the National New York Central Railroad Museum and the Goshen Historical Society of Elkhart County.
The IHS was able to give this money through its Heritage Support Grants program, which supports local, county and regional historical societies, museums and sites. Grants are awarded to projects that are designed to meet high-priority needs in areas such as Collections Stewardship, Sustainability, Planning, and DEAI, which stands for Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusion.
