SILVER LAKE — Jean Weller will be serving her second term on Silver Lake Town Council as she is running unopposed for 2023.
Weller, a Republican, is a Silver Lake local and has lived there for her entire life. She has always been heavily involved in the town, serving on the Silver Lake Days committee for 38 years.
She also is the secretary of the Lions Club with her favorite events being kids’ bingo and handing out the backpacks with school supplies.
“I enjoy helping out wherever I can,” said Weller.
In her free time, Weller tends to her garden, canning and preserving foods. She also enjoys cooking and baking, sharing the goods she makes with others.
Jean has been married to Michal Weller for 33 years in September, and they have two sons, Ty and Tracey Marshall. Weller said she loves to spend time with her family when she can.
Throughout her life, Weller has had a wide range of career experience. She retired in 2011 from Lake City Bank, ultimately leading her to pursue becoming a council member.
She looks forward to continuing to make the town of Silver Lake a better and cleaner place. In her next term, Weller hopes to get some homes demolished and see some ordinances hopefully get revised.
