WARSAW — Two women were injured in a three-vehicle accident near downtown Warsaw on Sunday morning.
At 10:04 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, emergency personnel responded to a three-vehicle accident on East Center Street, west of North Park Avenue, Warsaw.
According to a Warsaw Police Department accident report, a black 2015 Toyota Prius driven by Carol A. Morrison, 75, Warsaw, was traveling west on East Center Street and was attempting to merge into the middle turn lane to travel south on North Detroit Street. While Morrison was in the middle lane, a silver 2019 GMC Terrain driven by Kayley L. Slone, 29, Mentone, merged into the middle lane, causing a sideswipe collision.
This accident caused the passenger’s side of Slone’s vehicle to hit the driver’s side of a gray 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Elizabeth A. Tutorow, 39, Etna Green.
Morrison complained of chest pain and was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Tutorow sustained a severe injury to her left foot and was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne.
A witness said Slone’s vehicle was attempting to merge into the middle lane as Morrison’s vehicle was passing on the left.
Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
