WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a house while three children were in the home.
Eduardo Lisandro Gomez Jimenez, 28, 1202 Wooster Road Lot 50, Winona Lake, is charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony; criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 25, Winona Lake and Warsaw Police officers responded to a report of a man breaking into a home. Three children were in the residence at the time.
According to court documents, officers found Jimenez by a closed bedroom door, where two of the children were hiding. Jimenez disregarded officers’ commands and resisted arrest during this incident.
The children said Jimenez broke a door and entered the home. Officers noticed significant damage to a door which had been dead-bolted closed. The children also said Jimenez tried to physically break the door to a room they were hiding in.
A portable breath test showed Jimenez had a 0.198% BrAC.
Jimenez was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 25.
