He was born Nov. 23, 1939. On Dec. 23, 1960, he married Alma A. Hochstetler. She survives.

Survivors include his wife, Alma; his children, Chris (Mary) Slabaugh Jr., Lloyd (Katie) Slabaugh, James (Ruth) Slabaugh, David (Vonda) Slabaugh, and Diane (Harley) Yoder, all of Nappanee, and Regina (Ernest) Miller, Bremen; 36 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; brother Lester (Ann) Slabaugh, North Port, Fla.; and sister Sylvia (Junior) Miller, Dunnegan, Mo.
