‘Stories From The Crossing,’ Classes At Goshen Theater
News Release
GOSHEN — As September approaches, here’s a look at what will be happening soon at Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St., Goshen.
Ramiro Rodriguez, ‘Stories From The Crossing’
Visit the Goshen Theater lobby now until Friday, Oct. 6, during our box 0ffice hours or any public event to see the works of South Bend artist, Ramiro Rodriguez.
According to Rodriguez: “I am the son of Mexican immigrants that arrived in Texas in the mid ’40s and eventually settled in southwestern Michigan in the early ’60s. I grew up within a large extended family composed of aunts, uncles and cousins who all lived within a mile of my home. This transplanted micro-colony of Mexican culture took root and grew to blend with the community of my small rural hometown. My family’s stories and words have inspired and played a significant role in the themes of my artworks.
“This exhibition presents prints created over the past decade. Stories from personal experiences, family histories, cultural references and commentaries on world events make up the themes expressed here. These are the relationships that inform my world. My evolving role as a father, husband, brother, son and community member inspires and drives the themes in my work. Hopes, dreams, fears, observations and questions are pondered and presented in the graphic lines of my prints for others to consider.”
Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. For more information, send an email to [email protected] or call (574) 312-3701.

‘Ordinary Days’
Theatre’s Edge will bring the musical “Ordinary Days” to the Goshen Theater stage. It will be presented through a unique audience experience. The audience will be seated on the stage with the actors in the Miller Auditorium at Goshen Theater. An intimate theater experience awaits the audience for this production, which pays homage to the memory of those lost in 9/11.
Adam Gwon’s four-person song cycle has played around the world professionally, in university settings and at community theaters, and aims to leave audiences finding and appreciating the beauty in their everyday lives. When Deb loses her most precious possession, the notes to her graduate thesis, she unwittingly starts a chain of events that affects the ordinary days of four New Yorkers. Told through a series of intricately connected songs and vignettes, “Ordinary Days” is an original musical that captures the random yet pivotal moments of our “Ordinary Days.”
The musical contains adult content and themes and is recommended for ages 15 and older. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
