Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, South SR 15 and West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Joseph Littlejohn, 34, North Highland Place, Warsaw; and Kristian Hall, 57, Brandywine Drive, Panama City Beach, Fla. Littlejohn’s vehicle rear-ended Hall’s vehicle. Littlejohn had injuries to his leg and was transported to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for medical care. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:57 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, North SR 19 and West CR 1050N, Nappanee. Driver: Zackary Connors, 21, Amhurst Avenue, South Bend. Connors fell asleep while driving when he opened his eyes he was headed towards an oncoming vehicle and overcorrected, landing his vehicle in a ditch. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:35 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, West CR 900N and North 300W, Milford. Driver: Justin Hochstetler, 19, North CR 1000W, Nappanee. Hochstetler swerved his vehicle to miss an oppossum causing his truck and trailer to sideswipe a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, South CR 400W and West CR 200S, Warsaw. Drivers: Cynthia Gabaldon, 50, East Robby Drive, Warsaw; and Michael Sexton, 20, Clinic Street, Warsaw. Gabaldon’s vehicle was backing out of a residence when she backed into Sexton’s moving vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 203 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Timothy Chupp, 45, CR 2, Elkhart. Chupp’s cement truck backed into a building. Damage up to $25,000.
