Volunteers Needed For Hazardous Materials Exercise In Warsaw Aug. 26

WARSAW — Volunteers are still needed to play the role of victims in full-scale hazardous materials incident response exercise coordinated by the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
The annual exercise will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at two sites, 2605 E. Center St., Warsaw, and 2101 Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Activities will conclude around noon.
The event is set for a Saturday so that volunteer agencies and fire departments can involve their personnel. The Red Cross Canteen will be on hand to offer snacks, drinks and lunch.
Organizers remain in need of 10 to 15 volunteers who will act as victims. If interested, contact Kip Shuter by phone at (574) 371-2602 or email at [email protected].
The planned incident will like include the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and other county fire agencies; Warsaw Police Department; Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department; Indiana State Police; Lutheran EMS; Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital; DePuy; American Red Cross; National Weather Service; Indiana Department of Environmental Management; Indiana Department of Homeland Security; Indiana Department of Transportation; Warsaw Public Works Department; Warsaw Wastewater Department; Kosciusko County Highway Department; Kosciusko County 911; Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency; and Hoosier Lakes Radio Club.
