Honeycutt Arrested For Resisting Arrest During High-Speed Vehicle Pursuit

MENTONE — An Akron man was recently arrested for resisting arrest during a high-speed vehicle pursuit.
Blake Allen Honeycutt, 25, 15122 E. 300S, Akron, is charged with resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended, and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, all class A misdemeanors; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia and reckless driving, both class C misdemeanors.
On Aug. 24, a Mentone Police officer was on patrol when he noticed a motorcycle traveling at 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the officer attempted to pull the motorcycle over, he noticed the motorcyclist rapidly accelerate and try to flee.
According to court documents, the pursuit reached speeds of 99 mph. The motorcyclist, later identified as Honeycutt, eventually stopped in a driveway and attempted to flee on foot but was detained.
Upon searching Honeycutt’s person, the officer found a vape cartridge containing THC. During the booking process at the Kosciusko County Jail, an officer found a vape smoking device on Honeycutt’s person.
Honeycutt’s BMV record showed he did not have a driver’s license and his driving privileges were suspended indefinitely.
Honeycutt has prior convictions for driving while suspended and marijuana possession.
Honeycutt was booked in KCJ on Aug. 24, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
