Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 1:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, West SR 25, west of South CR 700W, Mentone. Driver: Sarah-Ann C. Marshall, 17, South CR 775W, Mentone. Marshall’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
• 8:22 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, East CR 500N, east of CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: William D. Willey, 49, Harry Turner Road, Roxboro, N.C. Willey’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
• 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, North CR 175E, south of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Akinwunmi A. Kolawole, 57, North CR 175E, Warsaw; and Kathleen Madden, 57, Chickadee Lane, Warsaw. Kolawole backed into Madden’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
• 5:01 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, South SR 19, east of North Etna Street, Warsaw. Driver: Tanner D. Miller, 27, Legend Drive, Bourbon. Miller said he tried to slow for a curve, but the brakes didn’t work. His vehicle left the roadway, hit a sign and then a vehicle in a driveway. Miller was checked by medics and refused treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
• 11:49 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, South SR 15, south of West CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Emily M. McIlwain, 34, South Merry Estates Drive, Silver Lake. McIlwain said she swerved to miss a deer. Her vehicle hit two signs and rolled. She said she drank alcohol prior to driving. She was later booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for OWI. She complained of left side pain and left elbow pain and had an abrasion on her knee. She refused further medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
• 2:31 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, East Mock Road, east of North CR 100E, Milford. Driver: Gabrielle T. Waikel, 23, North Perry Drive, Milford. Waikel said she swerved to miss a deer. Her vehicle went off the roadway and hit a tree. Waikel complained of leg and was transported to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.

Fulton County

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 7:33 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, North SR 25 and East CR 200N, Rochester. Driver: Liam G. Pinder, 16, Rochester. Pinder’s vehicle hit a tree.
• 2:04 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, South CR 1100E and East CR 675S, Culver. Driver: Peter Dancy, 49, Rochester. Dancy’s vehicle left the roadway after intentionally avoiding a traffic stop before crashing and the vehicle catching on fire. The driver and passenger, Tyler Kimbler, 27, Newberry, Mich., ran from the scene before later surrendering. Dancy was flown from the scene for treatment of his injuries at South Bend Memorial Hospital and Kimbler was transported to  Northwest Health-Starke Hospital for his injuries.
• 1:11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 7621 E. 400N, Rochester. Driver: Shaylin Wilcox, 18, Tippecanoe. Wilcox’s vehicle hit a deer.
• 9:05 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, South Wabash Road and CR 400E, Rochester. Driver: Astella Fisher, 18, Lynn. Fisher’s vehicle hit a deer.
• 12:47 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 3169 S. 800E, Akron. Driver: Malkia Grewe, 17, Akron. Grewe’s vehicle hit a pole and two mailboxes.
• 2:51 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, SR 14 and East Division Road, Akron. Drivers: Jamin Martin, 11, Akron; and Baily Reichert, 24, Bourbon. Reichert’s vehicle hit Martin’s tractor.
• 11:05 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, SR 25 and Martingale Court, Rochester. Drivers: Aydon Mihalic, 18, Rochester; and Louis Harkenride, 65, Fort Wayne. Harkenride’s vehicle and Mihalic’s vehicle were involved in a collision.
• 11:23 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, CR 1000S and South Meridian Road, Rochester. Drivers: Kerry Hopkins, 62, Twelve Mile; and Velvet Musselman, 40, Twelve Mile. Hopkins’ and Musselman’s vehicles collided.
