IUSB Program Hopes To Support Student “Gap Years”
News Release
SOUTH BEND — Indiana University South Bend has introduced a new program, Map the Gap, geared toward helping high school students who are interested in exploring a “gap year.” The program will help students stay on track with goal setting, campus visits, skill training and more.
During Map the Gap, students will have monthly interactions with job shadowing and mentoring through their first year out of school. The program will allow students to sit in on college classes and will perform career aptitude assessments to accurately pair the students with mentorship. Map the Gap will also host monthly workshops and networking opportunities.
Reportedly, the program has engaged with over 20 mentors and 35 industry partners.
