WARSAW — A Georgia man was recently arrested for allegedly body-slamming a man and placing him in a choke hold.
Jerry Wayne Hendrix Jr., 23, Hinesville, Ga., is charged with strangulation and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies.
On Aug. 18, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic dispute. A man said he was speaking with Hendrix when Hendrix’s demeanor suddenly changed from happy to irate.
According to court documents, Hendrix body-slammed the man to the ground and placed him in a choke hold. The man said he almost lost consciousness as a result.
The deputy noticed red marks around the man’s neck, as well as abrasions on his back and right shoulder. Hendrix only stopped choking the man after several neighbors intervened.
Hendrix told the deputy the man threatened his relative and also pulled a knife and put it into his stomach. Both statements were not remotely close to what witnesses at the scene said had occurred.
Hendrix has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
