ELKHART COUNTY — During a celebratory banquet held Tuesday, Sept. 5, the 2024 Elkhart County Fair Board President Shelly Steury unveiled the theme and logo for the 2024 fair: “A Timeless Tradition.”

Steury worked on this theme and logo for months with her daughter Kendra who designed it. The logo includes 4-H, Agriculture, the Fair, and her (Steury) very own family tradition of going to the rodeo. Some hidden details include the number “7” on the saddle pad representing that she will be serving as the seventh female president and 24 lines in the background representing the year of ’24.

Shelly explained, “When you talk about the Elkhart County 4-H Fair around people, they always share their family traditions and what they look forward to every July.”

Planning for the 2024 fair will look a little different as Steury currently also serves as the general manager of the organization.

“Being the general manager allows me to be a part of the day-to-day operations at the fairgrounds, which helps me connect on a daily basis with the people of our community,” stated Steury while reflecting on her unique position.

Steury will formally take the reins as the 2024 Elkhart County Fair Board President on Oct. 1. “I hope the success we had with our 2023 fair continues. Our staff and fair board always look forward to July and hosting our annual fair,” Steury continued, “I personally am excited to share my traditions with everyone and look forward to hearing all about the traditions that each fair-goer has.”
