Woman Arrested For Allegedly Kicking Police Officer, Trespassing On Pierceton Property
Staff Report
PIERCETON — A Columbia City woman was arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer and trespassing on a Pierceton property.
Kimberly Dawn Porter, 43, 346 N. Main St., Columbia City, is charged with battery against a public safety official, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement and criminal trespass, both class A misdemeanors; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 27, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a harassment complaint in Pierceton. The victim’s phone rang prior to the deputy speaking with the victim. Porter was identified as the person calling the victim.
According to court documents, the victim handed the phone to the deputy to answer. In the conversation with the deputy, Porter used expletives. While the deputy spoke with the victim, Porter showed up at the location, walked onto the property, and yelled at three individuals, including the victim. Porter was asked multiple times to leave the property but refused to do so and yelled at the group.
While being placed in a police vehicle, Porter stiffened her legs and pulled away. She yelled at the deputy and kicked him in the chest, which knocked the deputy’s body camera off.
Porter had no contractual interest in the Pierceton property where the group was at.
Porter has already been arrested and released on bond.
