Navarrete Arrested For Inappropriate Communication With Child
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Tennessee man was recently arrested for allegedly having inappropriate, sexual conversations with a child.
Casper Navarrete, 22, Memphis, Tenn., is charged with child solicitation, a level 5 felony; and inappropriate communication with a child, a class A misdemeanor.
On April 3, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a child exchanging sexually inappropriate messages with unknown men. KCSO searched two cellphones and found several text messages involving the child speaking with men they met on various online platforms.
According to court documents, between March 2 and 3, the child texted a man, later identified as Navarrete, who the child met through a video game. The conversation consisted of casual and sexual messages.
Navarrete allegedly begged the child multiple times to send inappropriate pictures to him. He also sent the child inappropriate images of himself. The child initially resisted but eventually sent photographs to Navarrete.
On May 26, Navarrete spoke with a KCSO detective about receiving a notice from the Department of Child Services regarding sexual abuse against the child. Navarrete said he vaguely remembered communicating with the child but could not remember details.
When the detective said Navarrete had to realize the child was young based on the pictures he received, Navarrete said he agreed and should not have sent pictures of himself to the child.
Navarrete was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 26.
