Warsaw Man Arrested For Resisting Arrest, Illegally Possessing Firearm

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for resisting arrest and illegally possessing a firearm.
Deanglo Tartt, 38, 3699 N. 175E Lot 182, Warsaw, is charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun, a level 5 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony.
On Sept. 23, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to serve a warrant on Tartt, who entered a vehicle and fled from law enforcement.
According to court documents, Tartt accelerated at a high rate of speed and drove recklessly while being pursued by police. Tartt then stopped suddenly and leaped out of the vehicle. While being taken into custody, Tartt said there was a handgun inside the vehicle.
Tartt said he fled from law enforcement because he knew he had an active warrant. He also told deputies he kept the handgun with him for protection.
Tartt has prior convictions for burglary and theft in Tennessee.
Tartt was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 23.
