Man Arrested In Fulton County For Sexual Misconduct With Minor
Staff Report
ROCHESTER — A Knox man was recently arrested for allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a child.
Michael Vincent Waller, 42, Knox, is charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 4 felony; and two counts of child solicitation, both level 5 felonies.
On Aug. 26, a woman told a Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputy that she was made aware of allegations about sexual misconduct between Waller and a child.
According to court documents, a person said the child told them Waller inappropriately touched them. In an interview with law enforcement and the Department of Child Services, the child said sexual activity with Waller had been taking place for several months.
The child said they tried to tell Waller to stop sexually interacting with them, but that he refused to do so. The child also said the inappropriate activity included multiple instances of sexual intercourse.
During a follow-up interview, the child recalled instances where Waller would make the child inappropriately touch him. The child also said Waller was usually drunk when the acts occurred.
In an interview on Sept. 11, Waller initially denied engaging in inappropriate activity with the child. However, toward the end of the interview, Waller admitted to having sexual intercourse with the child.
Waller was booked in the Fulton County Jail on Oct. 1.
