MENTONE — Amanda Yaprak is set to start her first full term as Mentone clerk-treasurer in 2024.
With no other candidates filing for the position by the deadline earlier this year, Yaprak will continue in the role. She was caucused in by GOP precinct committeemen in May 2022 to replace Nicki Norris, who resigned.
“There are so many good things happening in Mentone, new projects, improvements and a vision for the future of our unique town,” said Yaprak. “It isn’t an easy task, but I am excited to be part of that forward movement.”
Yaprak is a Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate and a United States Air Force veteran. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance.
She’s married to Ahmet Yaprak, and they have two sons.
Yaprak said goals she plans to work on during her next term are “updating policies, continuing training, streamlining processes and ensuring we are within compliance with ever-changing state and federal regulations and reporting requirements.”
