Warsaw Man Arrested After Domestic Incident
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman he previously battered.
Steven Bret Davis, 36, 1923 E. Timberline Circle South, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Oct. 22, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic complaint in Warsaw. A woman said she had a verbal argument that turned physical with Davis.
According to court documents, Davis hit the woman on the left side of her face with the palm of his hand, with the impact knocking the woman to the ground. The deputy noticed the woman’s cheek was bruised and swollen.
A child witnessed Davis hit the woman and told two other children in the home about the incident. The two children heard the fight but did not see it.
Davis said a verbal argument occurred but denied the incident becoming physical.
At the time of this incident, Davis was in a pre-trial diversion agreement for a domestic battery case from July 2022. The woman and child involved in the Oct. 22 battery were also the victims in the July 2022 battery.
Davis was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 22, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
