North Webster Community Public Library — Lions Karate Teaching Self-Defense Class Nov. 8

NORTH WEBSTER — Steve Hanford of Lions Karate, North Webster, will be teaching an adult self-defense class at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the North Webster Community Public Library. Come learn skills to boost your confidence and unleash your inner strength. Class includes skill training for anyone, regardless of size or strength. Upcoming Holiday Closings
NWCPL would like to give the community plenty of notice concerning upcoming library holiday closures. This year, the library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The following activities are set to take place at the library. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
A Matter of Balance, 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30. Call the library if you are interested in the January session of this event.
Roots & Branches genealogy group, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. This event will feature time for one-on-one discussions, sharing tips, building your family tree and tackling brick walls in research.
NWCPL will be hosting a class to make homemade bath bombs and sugar scrub at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. Class is free and all materials are provided, but registration is required.
Exercise classes are back at the library this week. Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise, 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. Let’s Move Dance class, 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. These classes are free and open to the public, no library card required.
Beginner Tech: Mac Computer Basics, 10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3. Come learn basic functions of Mac computers — everything from creating and sharing files to using the operating system. This class is for all computer beginners and is free and open to the public. Register in advance.
Youth Events
PAWS to Read, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30. Register your child for a 15-minute time slot to practice reading skills by reading to a therapy dog.
Baby and Toddler Time, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Join Miss Cathy for songs and stories geared toward children birth through 36 months. Registration is requested, but visitors are always welcome.
Preschool Story Time, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1. Join Mrs. Pam to sing songs, read books, share fingerplays and learn through fun literacy activities and crafts. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6, but all family members are invited. Registration is requested, but visitors are always welcome.
