Wendell D. Randall — UPDATED
Wendell D. Randall, 73, of Claypool, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice.
Born on Aug. 15, 1950 in Gratiot County, Michigan, Wendell was the son of Frank and Lois Sitts. Married on Oct. 27, 1982, he shared 48 years with his loving and very forgiving wife, Joyce (nee Dennis), who survives.
A 1969 graduate of Akron High School, Wendell worked for R.R. Donnelley for 36 years, retiring as a project lead. Wendell had a lifetime love of music, playing lead guitar and singing vocals in bands as well as attending as many concerts as possible. He loved fast cars, reading, being outdoors, Valley football and spending time with his grandchildren. Wendell never met a stranger and was known to tell a story or two.
In addition to his wife, Wendell is survived by daughters, Jessica Underwood and Jacqueline Jaberg; son, Zachary Randall; grandchildren, Maya Jaberg, Maci Jaberg, Mercedes Grimm and Alyssa Bell; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice (John) Moore, Dianne Noel, Linda Wideman, Doris (Dennis) Thompson and Eileen (Max) Isley; and brothers, Mike (Ramona) Randall and Martin Randall. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Leedy; sisters, Lois Ann Utter and Karen Moon; and brother, Ricky Sitts.
Friends and family may gather from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at First Baptist Church, 206 S. Oak St., Mentone. A memorial service will immediately follow.
