WARSAW — Thirty-nine women made crafts, learned about Christmas recipes and more during the Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers’ annual Holiday Program.
“Christmas Elegance” was the theme of the program held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
It was organized by current Extension Homemakers’ President Judy Egolf and Past President Sue Martin. Women from Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers were some of those who led craft, recipe and decorating sessions.
In the morning, Martin taught women how to create a holiday table setting, followed by a representative from Maple Avenue Flowers of Warsaw showing how to create a Christmas table centerpiece and former Purdue Extension Educator Mary Ann Lienhart-Cross talking about Christmas desserts.
An Extension Homemakers’ club, the Herscher club, provided snacks and drinks in the morning, with lunch of soup, sandwiches and pumpkin pie done by the Chit Chat club.
Women could then complete crafts, with Janice Bolin leading a mop angel craft and Carol Droke instructing on making handmade Christmas cards and Martin on making tulle Christmas trees.
Extension Homemakers’ Publicity Chair Alice Keirn said women came from as far as Lake County to the program.
“It’s something that we have done for years, and everybody looks forward to this,” she said of the Holiday Program.
If people are interested in joining an Extension Homemakers’ club, they may reach out to Keirn at (574) 371-5711.
