LEESBURG — An Etna Green man was arrested following a vehicle pursuit which began in Nappanee and ended in Leesburg.
At 7:28 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on South Rowland Avenue, Leesburg, following a police pursuit.
According to a KCSO accident report, Geoffery E. Riddle, 35, Etna Green, was driving a maroon 2006 Buick Lucerne in a police pursuit. He was traveling south at the intersection of South Rowland Avenue and School Street in Leesburg when his vehicle left the roadway, entering a yard, hitting a wooden privacy fence, and entering a pool at 401 S. Rowland Ave. The property is owned by William D. Jones.
Riddle was later detained by pursuing law enforcement agencies, including the Nappanee Police Department, KCSO, and Warsaw Police Department. He was booked in the Elkhart County Correctional Complex for resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction.
The removal process of Riddle’s vehicle from the pool resulted in damage to the yard and irrigation systems at Jones’ property.
Damages from the accident are estimated up to $100,000.
