Wabash First Fridays Features Downtown Cookie Walk Dec. 1
News Release
WABASH — The Downtown Cookie Walk will return for its third year at Wabash First Friday in December.
The Downtown Cookie Walk and Wabash Winterland will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in downtown Wabash, sponsored by Downtown Wabash Inc.
The cookie walk will offer holiday treats to sample from various businesses while First Friday-goers cross off items on their holiday shopping lists. Those attending may visit nine different businesses for treats while completing a free Downtown Cookie Walk stamping map. Participating in the stamping map activity not only provides an evening of holiday fun but also enters participants in a drawing for a chance to win a holiday gift basket filled with local goodies. Completed Downtown Cookie Walk stamping maps, located on the back of the First Friday fliers, should be turned in to the Downtown Wabash Inc. office by the end of the night.
Businesses participating in the Downtown Cookie Walk stamping map are: Wooden Ivy Boutique and Floral, JoJo’s Olfactory & Co., Modoc’s Market, Bluebird Boutique, Our House Real Estate, Wabash County Museum, Nicole A. Howard Photography, Living Well Downtown and Downtown Wabash Inc.
Several businesses will also be offering shopping specials to help visitors get everything they need for the holiday season. Bellazo will offer an extra 50% off clearance items, Bluebird Boutique will be doing a buy one get one half off special, Lily’s-N-Things will have 15% off storewide, Borders & Beyond Gallery is offering 15% off custom frames and Lighthouse Mission will feature 30% off all day and will be open until 7 p.m. The Francis Shoppe will also have extended hours and remain open until 6 p.m.
In addition to traditional Wabash First Friday festivities, customers can also participate in the annual, award-winning holiday shopping event, Shop Local to Win. The local shopping incentive provides shoppers with product and service options while promoting economic development. Shoppers who visit select small businesses in downtown Wabash through Dec. 17 can scan a QR code at the sales counter to enter for a chance to win locally curated prizes. Prize winners will be contacted every Monday through Dec. 18.
Wabash First Fridays are free and open to the public with numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options to celebrate the holiday season. Guests are encouraged to support downtown Wabash businesses this holiday season by shopping locally for their holiday purchases, during and after December’s First Friday.
Wabash First Fridays in 2023 are presented by MetalX. Additional support for Wabash First Fridays come from Pettit Printing, Crossroads Bank and 95.9 KISS FM.
