WARSAW — Members of the North Webster American Legion Riders Chapter 253 recently presented Kosciusko County Community Foundation with a donation of $1,500 for the KC Riley Kids Fund.
The money was collected with two fundraising rides held earlier this year, “Reba’s Ride” in the spring and an end-of-summer ride in honor of Mike Elwood. The Legion Riders presented the donation in honor of their member, Dan Conkling, who recently died. Conkling served as the assistant director of the Legion Riders.
The KC Riley Kids Fund provides financial assistance to Kosciusko County families who have a child being treated at Riley Children’s Hospital. The fund provides gas and food cards to families to help alleviate some of the financial burden of travel and food expenses during their child’s medical visits. The fund also provides support to Riley Children’s Hospital to help cover the cost of programs not covered by health insurance.
