Fort Wayne Man Arrested For Allegedly Driving Under The Influence

WARSAW — A Fort Wayne man was recently arrested for allegedly driving a vehicle while under the influence.
Marquel Deontaye Young, 43, Fort Wayne, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of paraphernalia, both class C misdemeanors; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with an enhancement, a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 19, an Indiana State Police trooper was patrolling on US 30 near Warsaw when he saw Young driving a vehicle.
According to court documents, the trooper knew Young’s license was suspended prior and that he had an outstanding warrant from Carroll County. The trooper pulled Young over and smelled marijuana in the vehicle. He also noticed a liquor bottle in the driver’s door.
Young failed several field sobriety tests and tested 0.11% BrAC on a portable breath test. Upon searching the vehicle, the trooper found a smoking pipe and marijuana.
Young was previously convicted of OWI in Allen County in August 2017. He is also currently on pretrial release for two separate OWI cases.
Young has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
