WARSAW — Melissa Boggs has announced her intent to run for the position of Kosciusko County Clerk of Circuit and Superior Courts.
Boggs is entering her 25th year as a county employee, with 21 years as a member of the clerk’s office. She worked for former Kosciusko Superior Court Three Judge Joe Sutton as his secretary from 2009 to 2013, leaving to become chief deputy under current Clerk Ann Torpy.
“I have spent half my life working in the clerk’s office and the courts,” said Boggs. “With that experience, I feel I am suited to be the next clerk of Circuit and Superior Courts.”
As chief deputy, Boggs works closely with the clerk in matters that come before the clerk’s office, and assists the public, trains staff, and communicates with offices within the Kosciusko County Justice Building. Her main responsibility in the office is voter registration and assisting the clerk and county election board in election management.
Boggs grew up in northwest Indiana and moved to Warsaw in 1994, where she still resides with her husband, Denny, and their two daughters. She graduated in 1998 from Warsaw Community High School and attended Vincennes University.
