WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman.

Keith Allen Busch, 50, 653 Walter Way Apartment D., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and domestic battery with a prior conviction enhancement, a level 6 felony.

On Nov. 8, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a battery at a residence near North Webster. The deputy spoke with a woman while she was being checked by medical personnel. The woman said she and Busch had a verbal argument because Busch was intoxicated and did not get his way.

According to court documents, the woman said Busch hit her nose and poked her eye. The deputy noticed scratches on the woman’s nose and that her left eye was bloodshot.

While walking around the residence, the deputy noticed an individual, later identified as Busch, laying in the grass. Busch kept interrupting the deputy while he was being read his Miranda rights.

Busch admitted to being physical with the woman but said she tried to choke him. He told the deputy he scratched the woman’s face while he was trying to get away. A portable breath test from Busch resulted in a 0.29% BrAC.

Busch was previously convicted of battery in Kosciusko County in May 2015.

Busch has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Jan. 5, 2024, in Kosciusko Superior Court Two.
